The Fresno County Ballot will include yet another renewal of Measure Z for another 15 years. While we all love our zoo, it is time to end this regressive tax. Especially with inflation causing costs for Americans, the general public should not continue to fund the zoo through theft at the cash register.
Last year’s sales tax increases have Fresno City residents paying over 8.35% on essentials (7.98% throughout Fresno County). A NO Vote on Measure Z will reduce sales tax to 8.25% in Fresno City, which is still higher than was extracted only 1 year ago, thanks to the Fresno City sales tax implemented in 2022. County residents will benefit by having a lower sales tax than has been seen in many years, just when tax relief is needed most.
VOTE NO ON MEASURE Z
It is time for the Fresno Chaffee Zoo to become self-sufficient, and stop charging hard-working citizens for their never-ending improvements!
