Three bills violating your right to bear arms are headed to the Senate Appropriations Committee next week. Call the members of the committee this week to stop them in their tracks!
CALL TO ACTION: AB-1078 Firearms: carry license restrictions.
Stop AB-1078: The purpose of this bill is to make various changes to California’s concealed carry license (CCW) laws, to increase the number of firearms an individual may buy in a 30-day period from one to three, and to make California’s lifetime firearm ban for felony convictions inapplicable to specified nonviolent felony convictions that occurred outside California.
This bill makes numerous changes to the statutes governing concealed carry weapons (CCW) licenses, including establishing standards for issuing a CCW license to a non-resident and adding additional bases for denying a CCW license application.
CALL TO ACTION: AB-1127 Firearms: converter pistols.
Stop AB-1127: A bill that seeks a ban on firearms that could be modified to include so-called “Glock switches” that make them fully automatic. Those modifications are already illegal and banning otherwise legal firearms is blatantly unconstitutional.
CALL TO ACTION: AB-1263 Firearms: ghost guns.
Stop AB-1263: A bill that changes the definitions of and creates certain restrictions on firearm accessories to include anything that could increase a firearm’s rate of fire or reloading speed. It also makes the dissemination of digital instructions and computer code regarding the manufacturing of firearms and accessories illegal even though the banning of digital code has been deemed by federal courts to be a First Amendment violation.
